Manhattan Mental Health Counseling was founded to solve a specific problem: New Yorkers struggle to find competent psychotherapists who also accept their health insurance. Founded by Natalie Buchwald, LMHC-D, and led with Managing Director Steven Buchwald, MMHC has grown to a team of 91+ clinicians and supervised clinicians offering in-network therapy across New York State. Meet the people who built the practice.
Natalie Buchwald, LMHC-D
I founded Manhattan Mental Health Counseling after discovering that many New Yorkers struggle to find competent psychotherapists that also accept their health insurance.

I believe that your mental health is just as important as your physical health and that everybody can benefit from psychotherapy. Most health insurances recognize that too and offer full or partial coverage for weekly counseling.

Manhattan Mental Health Counseling is a space where patients can experience the quality and personal attention of a private practice while also being able to afford their sessions using insurance or moderate fees.
Professional and competent care is of utmost important to me.
All our therapists are mental health counselors licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health, who have been meticulously vetted by me personally. You can take a look at our psychotherapists by visiting the Meet the Therapists page.
Finding a therapist that is right for you and that also take your insurance can be challenging.
We are here to help.
Respectfully,
Natalie Buchwald, LMHC-D
