That's it. First session can happen this week.
If you have Medicare Advantage in New York, you may qualify for online therapy with little to no out-of-pocket cost.
Manhattan Mental Health Counseling is in-network with five major Medicare Advantage carriers. Many of our patients pay $0–$30 per session, depending on their plan.
Our therapists specialize in geriatric mental health and understand the real challenges that can come with this stage of life — depression after retirement, anxiety about changing health, grief, caregiver stress, and major life transitions.
There are no preset annual session limits. Therapy continues as long as it remains clinically appropriate and beneficial.
Does Medicare Cover Therapy?
Yes. Medicare covers outpatient therapy — and Medicare Advantage plans in New York often make it even more affordable than Original Medicare. Instead of paying 20% coinsurance after a deductible, many Medicare Advantage members pay a simple fixed copay of $0–$30 per session, with no deductible for mental health services.
Many older adults come to Manhattan Mental Health Counseling for therapy for:
- Depression that feels heavier in retirement or after loss
- Anxiety about health, independence, or the future
- Grief after losing a spouse or lifelong friends
- Stress from caring for a partner or aging parent
- Loneliness or social isolation
- Adapting to chronic illness or medical changes
Our late-life mental health counselors understand the unique challenges of aging, including physical health limitations, medication interactions, and the social dynamics of later-life mental health care.

Medicare Advantage plans have no preset annual limits on therapy sessions. Coverage is based on medical necessity as determined by your therapist's clinical documentation.

There is no preset limit, and many patients choose to continue therapy as a proactive investment in their mental health.

Problem-Solving Therapy (PST) focused on daily challenges
Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) for relationship and role changes
