Therapy Appointment and Cancellation Policy

Manhattan Mental Health Counseling's appointment and cancellation policy outlines the scheduling and cancellation rules for all therapy sessions. Sessions are held weekly to maintain consistent progress. If you need to cancel or reschedule, you must notify us at least 48 hours before your session to avoid a cancellation fee of $85. First consultations that are cancelled twice will not be rescheduled a third time. These policies ensure that your therapist can dedicate their time to your care and that other clients on the waitlist have access to available slots.

Appointments

Manhattan Mental Health Counseling offers high-quality and professional psychotherapy to adults, adolescents, couples and families.

Individual appointments are available Monday through Saturday, with morning, afternoon, and evening slots to accommodate work and school schedules. Sessions are typically 50 minutes for standard therapy or 53 minutes for extended sessions. Couples and family sessions follow the same scheduling structure. After your initial intake, your therapist will recommend a session frequency based on your specific needs, with weekly sessions being the standard starting point.

The intake packet must be submitted online before your first session to ensure your therapist has time to review your details ahead of your appointment.

These policies are set forth in full in the client agreement that you will be required to sign. The policy mentioned below constitute a brief non-exhaustive summary:

First Consultation Policy. If you cancel your first consultation twice we will not be able to reschedule the first consultation a third time.
48-hour Cancellation Policy. We require 48-hour notice if you intend to cancel or move your appointment to another day to avoid being charged the cancellation fee of $85.00.
